Chemtrac’s Particle Counter PC2400D is now supporting multiple communications protocols including Modbus standard protocol. Modbus is an industry-wide, serial communications “standard” supported by
many PLC and industrial controls manufacturers. The physical connection is through a two-conductor, twisted-pair cable (RS-485).

Case History In Optimizing Filtration To Reduce RO Fouling | PDF File (1629 KB)
A large utility in the southeastern U.S. originally installed RO’s in 1994 and had experienced fouling problems since the first day they were put online. The RO’s would require weekly cleanings, sometimes after just 3 or 4 days of operation. Based upon a successful Streaming Current installation and a Particle Detection study performed at another utility site, Chemtrac was invited to look at what could be done to help the new plant resolve their RO fouling problem.

Monitoring Water Filtration Processes | PDF File (1,189 KB)
Filtered Water is routinely monitored for particles, usually by turbidiy measurements. In recent years, concern over certain parasitic protozoa water has led to the use of more sensitive particle monitoring techniques. Although particle counting instruments are suitable for such purposes, it is shown that a simpler, but very sensitive technique, based on turbidity fluctuations, may also be acceptable.
